Diverted

I have taken a brief hiatus from kitchen cleaning, although I have been doing a stockpile inventory (almost done).
However, this week, my husband put a new/old cabinet in the house for me. It's one that used to be in the kitchen. He kept it in the garage after we built a pantry this spring. It's good sized....just kind of hard to find things in the very back.
But it's in the house and I am using it. We have a stand alone cabinet that we bought very cheaply many years ago, and have been using it as a pantry. It's on its last legs. Hubby thinks he can sell it on Craigslist. I've been using it as my stockpile cabinet, but am moving things to their permanent home.
So this has triggered a complete reorganization of the room. It's a decent sized room, and this particular room used to be our family room and has evolved into an "everything" room. My husband's weight machine (scarcely used) is in this room. The elliptical machine I got some years ago is in this year (also scarcely used). I have a nice buffet and desk, and have moved the desk to the wall next to the stockpile cabinet because I mostly use my desk to sort coupons.
The desk was on one short wall, and when I moved it I moved everything away from that wall, and washed the wall last night.
Tonight I moved one bookcase back to the corner it was in, and rearranged the contents of said bookcase.
I moved another bookcase to the other corner. This bookcase used to live where the stockpile cabinet now is. I haven't cleaned this bookcase off, nor have I put stuff back on it. That's a chore for another day.
Then when I have the bookcases filed up, and the floor vacuumed again, we're moving the buffet to that wall.
The weight machine will then go to the spot where the buffet now resides.
That wall needs scrubbed really good first, though.
The curtain needs replacing in that room, but I'll have to save up for it.
Which means I will need to get really good at couponing and saving grocery money.
It all comes around, doesn't it?

The bathroom is done!

The second bathroom is scrubbed down, including the floor. It looks really nice, if I say so myself. I'm hoping maintenance on it will be easier, and that I can follow FlyLady's principles more often and keep it looking this nice.

I rearranged things in there this weekend to make room for my growing stockpile. I'm glad to say that it is growing!

I keep cleaning things in the kitchen and finding more to clean. So this week I want to just get it done.

Tomorrow I want to clean out at least three drawers. I've done these drawers in the recent past, so it shouldn't be that bad. I also need to finish the stockpile inventory and organize the pantry a bit better.
After all that, I'll have to clean:
the junk drawer
the pots and pans shelves (times two)
the drawer in the stove
The plates/bowls cupboard (three shelves, needs new paper)
The plastics cupboard (two shelves)
and the stuff under the sink
I can do most of this during this week. A little every day.

Monday's routines

Routines have saved my sanity.

And my houseplants.

So, today being Monday, my weekly routine chore is:
Water houseplants.

My daily routine chore is: fold laundry and I have loads at home just awaiting. I am at work right now doing my work routines.

My declutter/scrub chores for today are: clean out third drawer in kitchen, and scrub wall in second bathroom (including light fixture).

I am getting off work at 5, will go home and make dinner (beef stroganoff) and then head to the gym. After the gym, I'll do my scrubbing and decluttering.

Things that need to be done this week

I have a whole lot to do around the house to get it cleaned up and decluttered. I follow FlyLady, or at least I use her principles (I don't read her stuff much, it just seems like she's one walking advertisement).
Anyway, her way makes so much sense to me: babysteps.

I have been struggling with deep cleaning and decluttering the kitchen. So here is what needs to be done:
Declutter and clean treat drawer
declutter and clean third drawer
declutter and clean fourth drawer
declutter and clean top shelf of pots and pans
declutter and clean bottom shelf of pots and pans
declutter and clean junk drawer
declutter and clean plastics shelf
declutter and clean bottom shelf
declutter and clean under sink (includes washing out trash can)
declutter and clean vitamin shelf, repaper
declutter and clean second shelf, repaper
declutter and clean plate shelf, repaper

I really need to clean out the second bath while DD's gone. I have already washed one wall and scrubbed the tub area really good.
So this needs to be done:
Wash other wall in bathroom
clean out eight drawers, one at a time
clean out under sink
clean out trash can
scrub floor
wash light fixture

I am going to work on things 15 minutes at a time. I can do one drawer in the kitchen and one drawer in the bathroom in that time.

After the bathroom's done, I'm going to do the laundry area. There are two cabinets with two shelves each. I need to make some serious room for my stock pile here. And then I need to wash the walls.

When the laundry area's done, I will have to tackle the office and that's going to take some serious work.

Then I can declutter the family room and bonus room, which hopefully won't take too much time because I keep up with them except for the hot spots.

Onward.
